Sonic Tools

Standard

In light of my affection for Doctor Who, I want to talk about the nurse’s tools of the trade with the humor and parody inspired by my Whovian-ness. It’s totally a word. Whovians are cool.

And so are Nursing Caps. It’s the New fez. See previous post to see me in my cap. RN, baby. One black stripe. Even the Sister’s of Plenitude on New New New New New New New New New New New New New New York wore caps and capes, or something.

I also use a fabulous Sonic Pendant watch (again see photo) I collect these. I have two vintage ones and two modern, practical ones. I intend to get more.

Some I have perused: Image

I carry daily on my person a holster created with a roll of tape through which an inverted pair of Kelly clamps (or hemostats) are clipped to my clothes. In the bore of the roll of tape sit a pair of trauma shears and a carpuject. This nifty item is used to place medication ampules within for the purpose of administering the drug. It’s quicker than drawing the medication out of a syringe and the device can be used with or without needles. Image

None of them make the little zzzzzzzzzwhir sound, though. Pity.

And of course, they don’t work on wood either.
